About the Steel
DB6 Die Block Steel is a high-performance Die steel known for its excellent toughness, deep hardenability, and resistance to thermal fatigue. Engineered for heavy-duty die applications, DB6 maintains structural integrity under high impact and cyclic thermal loads. It offers good machinability in the annealed state and responds well to heat treatment, ensuring uniform hardness across large sections. Its balanced alloy composition makes it ideal for large forging dies, die casting tools, and extrusion dies where durability and dimensional stability are critical.
Applications
-
Closed Die Forging Dies
Withstands repeated high-impact forging loads.
-
Die Casting Molds
Ideal for aluminum and zinc pressure die-casting dies.
-
Hot Work Tooling
Used in tools exposed to elevated temperatures and thermal cycling.
-
Punches and Mandrels
Excellent for parts requiring wear and shock resistance.
